COOL HAND LUKE WAS ONE OF PAUL NEWMAN’S BEST MOVIES

When you’re stuck for something to watch cause all the new releases are out, rent COOL HAND LUKE.  It still holds up, and it features one of the all time-classic lines in film.  Take a look at the trailer and will remind you even more of our loss.  Pauk Newman really was cool on and off the screen!

Thanks for looking in today - let me hear from you - email me at:

TAILGATING POLICY FOR THE ASU-GEORGIA GAME

Friday, September 19th, 2008

arizona-state-sparky.jpg

GOTTA GET BACK ON TRACK!

Whether the Sun Devils were looking ahead last weekend when they got smacked by Nevada is a moot point…the big game is here, and if you’re planning on tailgaiting before the game here’s the deal:

1 - TAILGATING IS ALLOWED IN ALL UNIVERSITY PARKING LOTS AND STRUCTURES 3 AND A HALF HOURS BEFORE KICKOFF (5:13PM) AND UP TO ONE HOUR AFTER THE GAME

2 - GRILLING IS OK IN OPEN PARKING LOTS AND ON THE ROOF OF PARKING STRUCTURES.  CHARCOAL GRILLS ARE A NO-NO.

3 - ALCHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED, BUT LIMITED TO BEER & WINE.  LEAVE THE HARD STUFF AT HOME.

4 - GLASS CONTAINERS ARE OK, BUT ASU POLICE WOULD PREFER YOU CHOOSE CANS OR PLASTIC BOTTLES.

5 - IF YOU’RE CONSUMING ALCOHOL, YOU HAVE TO BE LEGAL AGE - 21 YEARS OLD. (DUH- DO YOU NEED TO BE REMINDED OF THAT!) YOU CAN’T BRING ALCOHOL INSIDE THE STADIUM.

6 - IF YOU HAVE A GROUP OF MORE THAN 20 GUESTS AND YOU’RE SERVING ALCOHOL, YOU’LL NEED AN ALCOHOL PERMIT FROM THE ASU POLICE DEPARTMENT.   YOU’RE OUT OF LUCK IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE ALREADY, THEY HAVE TO BE OBTAINED AT LEAST 14 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.  BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN PLAN FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

MY OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS HAVE AN OPEN DATE THIS WEEKEND, SO I’LL BE LOOKING IN ON THE SUN DEVILS.

Influential Motown Figure Whitfield Passes Away

Norman Whitfield, a legendary producer and chief songwriter for Motown Records, died Tuesday in Los Angeles after battling diabetes and other ailments. The Grammy-winning tunesmith co-wrote many of the label’s biggest hits, including “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg,” “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” among others. “Norman Whitfield was one of the most prolific songwriters and record producers of our time,” said Motown’s own Smokey Robinson.

He truly was one of the unsung greats of Motown!
